RBST GEAR CO sent me their Iron Claw Badger grips and knee sleeves to try out. The gripping surface on these is silicone, which when brand new is probably the stickiest of all the coatings I’ve tried. If you haven’t used something this grippy before you need to take caution when coming off the bar because it can yank your arm off when dismounting. That being said, if you want to be stuck to the bar when doing gymnastics, these are one of the best to do so.
The inner material is a more rough textured microfiber material. Not rough to the point that it feels like it’s going to give you blisters, just enough so your hands don’t slip around. Thickness isn’t too bad at around 2mm - I didn’t measure but it feels around there.
I really like the more minimal cushioning on the wrist wrap. It’s easy to turn these around and get them out of the way when you’re going to a lifting movement.
Where I didn’t care for them was on ring muscle ups - the grip is too long and wide so it makes getting into the rings cumbersome. The grip also bunches up a good amount, which is normal but you can feel all the bends in the grip. Otherwise they hold the rings fine.
What worries me the most about this coating is the durability. It comes off relatively fast and while they still hold well, the initial grip isn’t there.
Id say you’d get at least 3 months of consistent wear. Thats just how it goes with sticky grips though.I wear these in an XL and I think they fit well, but maybe a little big. My palm is 4.5”.
