BCS Classic 2026: Texas CrossFit Competition Returns to Bryan–College Station

Every year, athletes from across Texas and beyond make their way to Bryan–College Station for a weekend built around competition, community, and some seriously hard fitness.

The BCS Classic returns August 21–22, 2026, bringing two days of CrossFit competition to the Bryan–College Station area.

And in 2026, RBST GEAR CO. is heading back.

What Is the BCS Classic?

The BCS Classic is a long-running CrossFit and functional-fitness competition hosted in the Bryan–College Station area of Texas.

Since its early days, the competition has grown into a gathering of athletes, coaches, gym communities, vendors, volunteers, families, and spectators from across the region.

But the size of the event is only part of what makes BCS different.

The best competitions aren't remembered only because of the weights on the bar or the numbers on the leaderboard.

You remember the packed warm-up area. The teammates screaming from behind the barricade. The athlete fighting for one final rep. The crowd getting louder. And the moment you walk off the floor knowing you gave everything you had.

That is competition.

BCS Classic 2026 Dates & Location

Dates: August 21–22, 2026

Location: Bryan–College Station, Texas

Venue: Brazos County Expo

Address: 5827 Leonard Road, Bryan, Texas

The competition brings athletes together in a team-focused environment where pacing, communication, transitions, and strategy can matter just as much as raw fitness.

Two athletes. One score. Shared work.

Why Partner Competitions Hit Different

Individual competitions show you what an athlete can do alone.

Partner competitions test something different.

Can you communicate when both of you are exhausted?

Can you stay calm when your teammate misses a rep?

Can you change the game plan halfway through a workout?

Can you recognize when it's time to take over and when it's time to recover?

Great teams figure out how to turn different strengths into one strong performance.

One athlete might be the stronger lifter. The other might have the better engine. One dominates gymnastics. The other can bury themselves on the machine.

The teams that communicate and adapt are often the teams that perform the best.

What Athletes Should Expect

Competition day has a way of exposing things that normal training doesn't.

That grip you've never questioned suddenly matters during your fourth set of pull-ups.

Your belt has to tighten quickly because you've got seconds before touching the barbell.

Your jump rope needs to be exactly where you expect it.

Your knee sleeves can't become another thing you're fighting between events.

This is why experienced competitors rarely try brand-new gear on competition day.

Competition Bag Checklist

  • Pull-up grips
  • Lifting belt
  • Knee sleeves
  • Speed rope
  • Wrist wraps
  • Athletic tape
  • Extra socks
  • Extra shirt
  • Training shoes
  • Water
  • Electrolytes
  • Carbohydrates and easy-to-digest food
  • Recovery tools
  • Chalk
  • Towel

Then check your bag again.

Nobody wants to realize their jump rope is sitting at home ten minutes before athlete briefing.

Grip Management Can Make or Break Your Weekend

High-volume competition workouts can destroy your hands if you're not prepared.

Once your hands tear, every bar movement becomes harder.

  • Pull-ups
  • Chest-to-bar
  • Toes-to-bar
  • Muscle-ups
  • Barbell cycling

Your grip setup should already be tested before BCS weekend.

IRON CLAW

The IRON CLAW uses a silicone gripping surface with reinforced backing and is built for athletes who want confidence, control, and a secure connection with the bar.

It's a strong option for beginner and intermediate athletes or anyone wanting a dependable all-around competition grip.

IRON X

The IRON X is RBST's thinner, more aggressive competition-oriented grip, built with a natural-rubber gripping surface and Kevlar backing.

It's designed for athletes attacking higher-volume gymnastics who want minimal material between their hands and the bar.

Whichever grip you choose, don't wait until competition weekend to figure it out. Train in it. Sweat in it. Do high-volume sets in it. Competition day isn't testing day.

More Than a Leaderboard

One reason competitions like the BCS Classic continue to matter is because CrossFit competition has always been about more than first place.

Most athletes stepping onto that competition floor aren't professional athletes.

They're coaches. Parents. Business owners. Nurses. Firefighters. Teachers. Students.

They're people with completely normal lives who spend a few hours every week doing very abnormal things inside a gym.

And then, for one weekend, they get an arena.

A judge. A lane. A crowd. A leaderboard.

And the chance to find out what happens when training gets tested.

That's what makes competition special.

RBST GEAR CO. Is Back at BCS

For us, events like BCS are one of the best parts of building RBST.

We don't want to be a fitness company that only exists behind a website.

We want to be on the competition floor.

We want to meet the athletes using our gear.

We want you to try the grips. Try the belts. Feel the knee sleeves. Check out the newest gear.

Tell us what you like.

Tell us what needs to be better.

Because a huge part of how RBST continues to evolve comes directly from the athletes who actually train in our products.

We build gear for people who train — and we train too.

Come Visit the RBST Booth

If you're competing, coaching, spectating, or just coming out to experience the weekend, come find the RBST GEAR CO. booth.

We'll be bringing competition gear, apparel, accessories, newer releases, and plenty of Honey Badger energy.

If you're trying to decide between grip models, figuring out sizing, or simply want to put your hands on the gear before buying it, come talk to us.

Bring your questions.

We'll help you get dialed in.

Preparing for the BCS Classic

If you're competing in August, the work isn't done during competition week.

It's done during all the weeks before it.

  • Build your engine.
  • Get stronger.
  • Practice transitions.
  • Train with your partner.
  • Know each other's strengths.
  • Know each other's weaknesses.
  • Practice communicating when you're exhausted.
  • Test your equipment before stepping onto the floor.

Then when your heat gets called and the clock starts counting down, you don't have to think.
